About the Festival
Celebrating and preserving Amazigh culture through the power of cinema.
Amplifying Amazigh Voices
Based in San Francisco, the San Francisco Amazigh Berber Cultural Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing the stories, artistic expressions, and cultural heritage of the Amazigh (Berber) people—one of the world's oldest indigenous communities with a rich history spanning North Africa.
Through carefully curated film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and cultural events, we create spaces for dialogue, education, and celebration of Amazigh identity, both for those within the community and those eager to learn.
Hosted at the University of San Francisco, our festival serves as a bridge between generations and communities—connecting elders who carry traditional knowledge with young filmmakers using modern media to tell their stories, and bringing Amazigh culture to Bay Area audiences.
